What’s Good in your Hood Video Series
‘What’s Good in your Hood’ is a Bring it On initiative designed for our students to share knowledge and highlight good things that are happening in their neighbourhoods with the hope to inspire them to get involved with projects that can help others.
Essentially, we want to know ‘What’s good in your Hood’ – captured and illustrated through video. Each video submission earns BIOD Teams 10 points to their overall dance score.

Meet Chloe share about the many great things in the King’s College Hood!
Q1: Hey Mimi, How do Kings Students get involved in the community?
We have a very well established Community Service program at the King’s College. This includes things like afternoon activities that all students get involved with and certain weekend activities as well.
Q2: Hi Cooper, how do you get involved in Community Service at Kings?
So at Kings, a group of students from King’s go to Mangere Refugee Centre. They help out kids to get used to life in NZ.
How about you Abby?
Every Tuesday – Thursday after school we are given the opportunity to go to Otahuhu After School Care – Where we Help Kids with homework and play games with them!
How about you Harriet?
We like to help out Middlemore Hospital, which is just located down the road from us. At the moment we are currently running Baking Drive where the girls can bring in all sorts of baking and we drop it down to the Middlemore Hospital Workers to THANK them for all the Great Work they’re doing.
Overall as Kings students we value being involved in our Community and pretty lucky to have a good hood!
