What’s Good in your Hood Video Series

‘What’s Good in your Hood’ is a Bring it On initiative designed for our students to share knowledge and highlight good things that are happening in their neighbourhoods with the hope to inspire them to get involved with projects that can help others.

Essentially, we want to know ‘What’s good in your Hood’ – captured and illustrated through video. Each video submission earns BIOD Teams 10 points to their overall dance score.

Haka Warriors program run by PCYC Blacktown brings an opportunity for all students to connect with their roots and their culture at St Clare’s Catholic College.

The reason that we chose this program cause it’s where we get put into small groups and learn about eachothers cultures!

Delivered by PCYC Blacktown in partnership with NSW Police, Haka Warriors gives voice to Pacifika youth through cultural identify by connecting them with their cultural heritage through Haka.

The program instils a sense of pride in the cultural identity of Pacifika youth, and by encouraging young people to make positive choices, new leaders have emerged from the program with a stronger sense of identity and confidence.

The program has grown rapidly since its inception in 2019, with 850 students from 20 high schools from North and South West Sydney, the Central Coast and the Eastern Suburbs participating in the transformative and values-driven program.
